Colas Weaken Women Bones

I wrote here that Pepsi and Coca Cola have been in a fierce battles to save their reputations in India because of new findings by an independent consumer watchdog institution. But from a new finding in the US—the headquarters of Colas products—it turns out that the problem is not only in India.

Drinking Colas is not good for bones. Especially, well, for women. As reported here:

A US study found that drinking just four cans of regular or diet cola a week led to lower bone density in women - a condition which increases the risk of osteoporosis.
They found that drinking cola led to lower bone mineral density in women’s hips, regardless of age, timing of menopause, total calcium and vitamin D intake, or cigarette use and alcohol intake.

Fortunately for men who ara already addicted to Colas, they can breath a bit easier as it doesn’t have a significant impact on them.

Having said that, this study is not final. There’s still other possibilities where colas might not be singled out for blame.

Yet, I’d prefer not to take a risk at a time when choices are still a plenty.
