When Ong Hock Chuan phoned me a few months ago asking my time to come to the preleminary meeting which unfortunately I couldn’t attend for geographical and time barrier, deep inside I was very happy back then. I dream of such event that will enable blogging activities–a representation of Indonesian transformation from conventional tradition of talking into the next level of modern traditon: a tradition of writing–into a limelight of conventional media in a big way. And I don’t see any person who fit to that task but one and only: Ong Hock Chuan. From the first time I knew him through our blogging activities (I haven’t met him in person), I can feel his honesty, dedication, professionalism and determination to something he believes in. He didn’t failed me and, indeed, all Indonesian bloggers, a bit with this effort. No less important, he picks the best blogger Indonesia to head the day-to-day activities in the run-up to that event: Enda Nasution.
Now, the Pesta Blogger 2007 (Blogger Indonesia Fiesta 2007) official website has been set up from which you can monitor the latest report from the committee. Also, after sometime, you’ll be able to register yourself in case you would like to attend the party.
From the offical website, we also can see some big brand logos which will become the sponsors and partners including Ministry of Information and Communication (Depkominfo, in local parley), Nokia, Microsoft, the Jakarta Post, Kompas and Koran Tempo newspapers.
I feel ashamed that I could’nt attend any previous meeting, considering I’m given an honor as one of the steering committee, an honor I really do not deserve. Nevertheless, I am grateful and take it as a compliment from all big guys out there. I am sure the Blogger Indonesia will never be the same again, for the better for sure, after this event.
Last but the least, I should not forget to mention all guys other than Ong Hock Chuan and Enda Nasution. There are several bloggers in Jakarta who work very hard to make this big event happen including Mr Wimar, Nukman, Wicak, Lita, Priyadi, Atta, Budi Putra among others.
I believe, this event should and must be celebrated by all Indonesian bloggers long before the boxing day take place. I sincerely would like to express my deepest gratitude, on behalf of myself and all blogger Indonesia, to everybody who involves in this event from the very beginning. You’re doing a great job my friends. Thank you.

Fatih: Thanks. As usual you are very generous and kind with your words.
We were sorry you were in Central Java and could not attend some of the earlier meetings of the Steering Committee too - I think we would benefit from your presence.
Nonetheless what’s important is support from someone like you that commands great respect from many, many Indonesian bloggers. I hope you’ll be able to make it for further meetings in the lead up and on the actual Pesta Blogger as well. Pesta Yuk!
Blogging must give a contribution for our nation and society as well..blogging is not either media cyber or technology issues..
I can’t hardly wait for this event,I’m looking forward to learn more from many insightful Indonesian bloggers, sure I want to meet you again after so long time since we met in Delhi
@Unspun: thanks Ong for the comment. I’m not a “generous” in a sense to easily give away any appreciation except where it’s due. you deserve more than a mere words.
@iman: agreed. blogging is not merely b.l.o.g word.
@wazeen: i wish i could attend the boxing day to meet you and everyone i only meet online.
