Two Indonesian Diplomats Wounded in Kabul Suicide Bombing

Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan was, and still is, dangerous. During my stay in India, Indonesia embassy for Afghanistan was headquartered in New Delhi for safety consideration. I wonder what make Jakarta thinks that Kabul is now safer for their diplomat to stay than Kabul was five years ago. I believe time is not right for now to put our diplomat in Kabul until America withdraws all of its forces from there. Afghan is dominated by ethnic Pathan, a highly pride people, who are very offended to an uninvited strangers staying in their country for too long for whatever reason.
JAKARTA - Five Afghan security guards at the Indonesian embassy were killed and two Indonesian diplomats were wounded in a suicide car bombing which targeted the Indian embassy in Kabul on Monday, officials said.
India embassy in Kabul is the main target of the bomb. That’s why they bore the most casualties. For India and Pakistan, Afghanistan become the extension of their decades-long hostilities as well as a place for both to appease and got Washington’s “heart and mind.” India wants to put its influence in the gate of Central Asia which has been so long dominated by Pakistan’s influence. But it would be very hard for India to do a Pakistan’s role. The reason: India has too little in common with the Afghan people compared to Pakistan. As mentioned, ethnic Pathan tare majority in Afghanistan and occupies a significant part in Pakistan. In developing countries, especially in South Asia, political identity is highly important for any political attempts to succeed. The US will also fail just like the mighty Soviet Union decades ago.
The US’ soft-power i.e. aids and donation in the form of education / offering scholarships to study in America and giving funds to local NGO (non government organisation) is a lot more effective and should be further escalated in the next American government if they want to win the heart and mind of the world. Iraq and Afghanistan should be their “learn the hard way” lesson to review their strategy to gain the world domination and influence.

Maybe our government though that thoose diplomat is “Pasukan Berani Mati” .How can they doing their job if bomb still dung aroung them.
From what I’ve learned so far, Kabul is supposed to be one of the safest area in Afghanistan.
A cousin of mine in Deplu was once stationed in Lebanon along with the Peace Corps, the whole family were worried sick that these stuffs would happen to him. Luckily, he had been transferred to India and presently living there.
