Blogger Indonesia of the Week (83): Rima Fauzi
World is beautiful, every normal and spirited being thinks so. The most salient feature of its beauty lies in the heterogeneity of its populace called human. The differences of our physical appearance, colors of our skin, our eyes and hairs. And on top of it all: the differences of our mindset, preference, leaning and way of thinking we attach to or led or want others to believe. Thus emerges various religions brought about by many prophets, school of thoughts introduced by many great philosophers. It’s natural therefore if every single religion and philosophical thoughts for or against any religion have their own followers. It also means that we have choices to choose to lead our life. Afterall, life is about choice and world gives us freedom to choose. Whatever you wanna be, just be it.

Young Woman and Drugs
Drugs, like alcohol and smoking, connotes more to men bad habit. Particularly in Indonesia, the term ”bad man” stands for a person who has at least these following bad habits: drinking alcohol (including drugs and to a “lesser extend” smoking), gambling, womaniser, etc.
But a survey reveals that such bad habit as taking drugs is no longer dominated by men.
A survey by the Edinburgh-based drugs agency Crew 2000 found that a quarter of women questioned said they had taken amphetamine or ecstasy, while almost half had used cannabis and more than one in five had tried cocaine.
How to Quit Smoking
I, finally and officially, Quit Smoking and today is the seventh day. 21 March 2008 was the starting day.
It’s been a long while that the intention and willingness to call it a day emerged. What I need was a momentum to start afresh the whole thing. Includng to begin leaving the “chain-smoker” label behind.
And when the moment came, I took it with both hand. Now, it’s the seventh day I live without any cigarette smokes filling my lung. Some friends amazed, surprised and shocked. But it’s just natural to go from one extreme to another if you’re determined to do so. Nothing is impossible.

Reading Habit and Library: Lesson #5 from India
An Indian professor once was invited to deliver a general lecture in Malang Islamic University (UIN - Universitas Islam Negeri) East Java. From Surabaya airport he went to Malang city by bus. After coming back to India, he told us, Indonesian students in India, his impression thus:
Between Surabaya and Malang, I was so amazed to see so many hypermarkets, great supermalls and big restaurants. I saw a restaurant which is so big that I never see it before in India. What “amazed” me even more was that I did NOT see any public library at all.
He then blasted (with “emphaty”) a question that unable us to answer with pride: “So, what are you people doing other than shopping and eating out?”

Indonesian Blogger Ministers
Indonesians are known for their laid-back attitude, a sort of a “very-busy” mindset, so to speak. Of course, with some few exception here and there, that’s those who have successfully reformed their personalities.. That’s why it’s amazing to find some (very) few Indonesian ministers who are engaged in blogging activities. Though not many of the so-called blogger ministers it’s worth noting as they are a rare breed we should encourage and appreciate the new phenomenon to blossom. Pretty Woman
In my high-school days, when someone asked me what an ideal woman I was looking for, I would definitely refer to many attractive girls and women whose faces often show up in international or local media, television, newspapers and magazines: those who are physically perfect.
As time goes by, my perspective towards the value of beauty gradually change and now change in a big way. I’m still not blinded enough to still be able to appreciate physical beauty. I still can talk about it in minute details. It’s my preference that changes.

Maria Sarapova
Many people like Maria Sharapova for various different reasons. Mostly her beauty. But beauty becomes cheap and means nothing when it’s not combined with something more substantial than that of mere superficiality. Pure physical appearance only attracts those who couldn’t see something beyond the temporary-yet-attractive flesh and move on deep within.
Physically speaking Maria is beautiful. Yes, no doubt about that. But frankly, many more beautiful girls outthere, even in tennis in particular and sport in general not to say in modelling world, with more sex appeals get no such attention as Maria does. Why?
