في تطور لصراع ممتد منذ سنوات، دخل مالكي جريدتي “وول ستريت جورنال” و “نيويورك تايمز” صراعاً حاداً بسبب محاولة مالك الأولى روبرت مردوخ شراء الثانية من مالكها أرثر سالزبرجر، تحقيقاً لرغبة قديمة يحاول تنفيذها منذ عام 1998.
In the latest development in a protracted conflict, the owners of the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times have clashed, after the Murdoch-owned Journal attempt to purchase the Times from its owner Arthur Sulzberger. Murdoch has sought to purchase the New York Times since 1998.
Perkembangan terbaru dalam konflik berkepanjangan, pemilik the Wall Street Journal dan the New York Times telah bentrok, setelah Journal milik Murdoch mencoba untuk membeli the Times dari pemiliknya Arthur Sulzberger. Murdoch ingin membeli New York Times sejak 1998.
ودخل الصراع بين مالكي الصحيفتين آفاقاً جديدة، عندما نشرت “وول ستريت جورنال” تحقيقا صحفياً يشبه “أرثر” مالك ” نيويورك تايمز” بالنساء قبل أن يوجه “مردوخ” ضربة جديدة بإصدار ملحق خاص للصحيفة عن نيويورك لمنافسة الصحفية النيويوركية العريقة.
The conflict between the two owners reached new levels when the Wall Street Journal published a report comparing Sulzberg to a woman. Murdoch delivered a further blow by creating a New York special supplement, competing with the prestigious New Yorker magazine.
Konflik antara kedua pemilik itu mencapai level baru ketika Wall Street Journal menerbitkan laporan membandingkan Sulzberg dengan perempuan. Murdoch mengantarkan pukulan berikutnya dengan menciptakan suplemen khusus New York, menandingi majalah New Yorker yang prestisius.

After a short truce, the conflict was re-sparked when the New York Times published a report about what it described as Murdoch empire’s business scandals in Britain, such as newspapers the Sun and the News Of The World.

I hope that Murdoch buys, “The New York Times”, because right now they are neo-communists, coasting on the great reputation for balance they had 50 years ago. Murdoch’s news is not balanced, but his organization is vigorous, capitalism works more effectively even for many humane things, and new ownership of, “The New York Times”, would force more people to think for themselves.
